Virtual Boy’s new video for ‘Let Go,’ from its forthcoming debut full-length album, ‘Virtual Boy,’ shows images of the duo intermingling with the soundwaves they crafted to create a strange convergence of analog and digital.
The pair, Preston Walker and Henry Allen, make music that walks a similar line. Creating music in Los Angeles, they funnel acoustic sounds ranging from strummed guitar to Vocoder-transformed voice to make digital songs that sound thoroughly modern -- while suggesting the futuristic vibe of 1970s synthesizer music. The new video, which makes its world premiere via Pop & Hiss, is co-directed by Steve Nalepa and Lin Su and arrives a week before the 11-song album comes out via Alpha Pup. You can grab a download of the first single from the album, ‘Memory of a Ghost,’ at Virtual Boy’s Soundcloud page.
Update: Alpha Pup just tossed us an MP3 of the track for download. You can grab it below (right click).
