St. Bonny’s prevails, 28-17

Running back Darrell Scott rushed for 285 yards and four touchdowns in 35 carries and scored an 88-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to lift St. Bonaventure to a 28-17 victory over Canyon at Ventura High.

The Seraphs (3-0) recovered three Canyon (0-2) fumbles and broke a 14-14 halftime tie with three- and six-yard touchdowns by Scott.

Canyon quarterback Sean Gavin completed 15 of20 passes for 288 yards and a touchdown with one interception.
