As I continue to partake in this grand blogging experiment at The Times, I’m going to do my best to highlight the biggest regional games for the upcoming week. I understand it’s already Tuesday, so this first edition is a little on the late side. I guess I just can’t get over my hatred for Mondays. However, I’ll try to always have this posted on Saturday or Sunday.

Also, I’ll do my best to get all the big-time games up on the blog, but if you think I’ve missed an epic showdown of some sort, feel free to add it on the comment board.

Here we go:

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

• Valencia at Saugus, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday -- Is Valencia a title contender? We’ll find out.
• Crespi at Harvard-Westlake, 7 p.m. Wednesday -- Celts looking to rebound against Mission League title-favorite.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

• Valencia at Saugus, 5 p.m. Tuesday -- Cents are the early Foothill League title favorites.
• Knight at Quartz Hill, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday -- Rebels looking to avenge tournament loss to Knight.
• Notre Dame at Chaminade, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday -- Knights looking for sixth straight win.
• Righetti at Arroyo Grande, 7:30 p.m. Friday -- Eagles have won seven of last eight.

BOYS’ SOCCER

• Hart at Saugus, 3:15 p.m. Tuesday -- Defending champion Saugus still the team to beat.
• Santa Barbara at Buena, 5:30 pm. Tuesday -- Dons need to win to stay in Channel League title hunt.
• Crespi at Harvard-Westlake, 5 p.m. Wednesday -- Celts riding high after 1-0 win over Loyola.
• Camarillo at Channel Islands, 3:15 p.m. Thursday -- Showdown between Pacific View League’s best.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

• Atascadero at San Luis Obispo, 6 p.m. Tuesday -- Top two teams in the Pac-7 League meet.
• Thousand Oaks at Agoura, 6 p.m. Wednesday -- The Lancers looked good on a tough ride through nonleague play.
• Valencia at Hart, 3:15 p.m. Friday -- Let’s see if Hart can shake off its underdog status.
