Valuable real estate in short supply at Harvard-Westlake

Thanks to arriving at Harvard-Westlake two hours early, I found plenty of parking and had no problems getting into the gym for tonight’s Division I-AA second rounder between the Wolverines and Mater Dei. Unfortunately, my bird’s eye position from the top corner of the grandstands has locked me into a sea of people.

I abandoned my usual plan of talking to coaches Greg Hilliard and Gary McKnight because I didn’t feel like jumping over a bunch of kids just to lose my spot on the wooden bench. But I guess that’s just part of the territory when you’re blogging from one of the biggest playoff games of the year.

At least I have a strong wireless connection from up here and I’ll do my best to keep you in the loop with regular updates. Mater Dei is the big favorite in this one, but Harvard-Westlake looked really sharp in its first rounder against Westlake.

By the way, I was on the sidelines for Long Beach Cabrillo’s 2-1 Division I second round playoff victory over Cespi in boys’ soccer. I’ll send a couple blogs on the game once my videos load.
