Fred DiPalma, who coached a number of years at Savanna High -- and had some pretty exciting teams, including the 1993 Southern Section Division VI champion -- has been named football coach at Katella, where he will try to rebuild that program after the Knights posted a 2-7 last fall.
Katella is 10-29 over the last four seasons.
DiPalma resigned in 2000 from Savanna where, according to The Register, he had compiled a 75-53-4 record in 12 seasons.
This fall he was an assistant at Western.
