Riverside King came to Woodland Hills looking to pull off an upset of top-seeded Taft, and the Wolves are celebrating after an 83-82 overtime victory.
Kawhi Leonard made two baskets and two free throws in overtime to provide a big lift for King.
King is the king of the City Section, pulling off its third consecutive victory over a City team during the state playoffs -- first Fremont, then Westchester and now Taft. King opened a 79-72 lead in overtime, then held off the Toreadors.
This was all about King burning Taft’s 2-3 zone defense and playing well-enough on defense to withstand Larry Drew Jr. & Co.
