If Garfield faced Roosevelt in a ping-pong match, there probably would be a sold-out crowd. That was the case in a boys’ basketball game on Friday night at Garfield, where by the time the junior varsity game started, seats were gone.
Garfield won its 11th consecutive game with a 50-44 victory over Roosevelt in the Eastern League.
Garfield improved to 16-3 overall and 2-0 in league. Joe Joaquin had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
