A prison guard, who two years ago was fired for giving three cheeseburgers to an inmate, was ordered reinstated by Solano County Superior Court Judge Michael McInnis. The judge called the dismissal of Joe LaTona an excessive punishment for the breach of prison policy. LaTona, a five-year veteran of the Department of Corrections, was fired from his position at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville after offering the burgers to an inmate, who had helped clean a hallway.
