Community College Baseball : Santa Ana Rolls Past Miracosta, 13-2

The Santa Ana College baseball team elevated its record to 10-2 with a 13-2 rout of Miracosta Thursday at Miracosta.
The Dons’ Brent Ryhlick hit a three-run triple in the first inning, and went 2 for 3. Vince Shinholster of Santa Ana added a two-run homer in the fourth inning, as the Dons outhit the Spartans, 13-6.
Starter Gary Pifer (3-0) pitched seven innings for the victory.
In other nonconference action:
Saddleback 5, Palomar 4--Jim Devine doubled to open a ninth-inning rally for the Gauchos, and pinch-runner Scott Eilertson scored Saddleback’s winning run on Bucky Bollinger’s single. Bollinger led Saddleback (7-2) with three hits and Devine had two.
Winning pitcher Paul Prinz, entered the game with two outs in the seventh inning, when the score was tied, 3-3. For Palomar, Ron Sisler had four hits and three stolen bases. Losing pitcher Todd Poelstra threw 6 innings.
Grossmont 10, Cypress 9--The Griffins scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning, then held off the Chargers (6-4) to earn the victory at Cypress.
