L.A. Police Officer Wounded

A Los Angeles police officer was wounded early this afternoon in Reseda during a gun battle with a robber who escaped. Paramedics rushed the victim, a sergeant who was off duty at the time of the shooting, to Northridge Hospital, city Fire Department spokesman Rey Oller said.
Early reports indicated that the suspect fired at least two rounds at the officer inside a store in the 7600 block of Reseda Boulevard. The name and condition of the wounded officer were not immediately disclosed.
