The death toll rose to at least 10 in weekend battles in the southern Lebanese port of Sidon between Christian militia forces and Muslim and Palestinian fighters, Sidon police reported. In the port of Tyre to the south, Israeli troops took more than 60 men away from the El Bass Palestinian refugee camp on the city’s edge and held them for questioning. In the mountains near Beirut, meanwhile, one person was killed and nine were wounded in artillery battles between Christian militiamen and Druze forces.
