Municipal Judge Larry P. Fidler ruled that he has jurisdiction to decide whether new arrest warrants should be issued to the seven defendants in the McMartin PreSchool case. Prosecutors had requested new warrants to ensure that 57 original charges do not expire. The case, involving 208 charges of molestation and conspiracy, is in its ninth month. Prosecutors said that the warrants are needed because none were issued for charges added after last March, when the defendants were arrested on a 115-count indictment.
