Freedom Fighters

We should all be grateful to President Reagan for setting the record straight in pointing out that similarities between the Freedom Fighters of the American Revolution and the Founding Fathers on the one hand and the contras in Nicaragua on the other.
Until now who would have ever thought that this country owed its origins to a loosely organized bunch of mercenaries, many of them defectors from the army of George III, who had little qualms about raping and torturing as they roamed the colonies in search of schools and hospitals to destroy, taking refuge in Canada whenever pressed, and who were being financed by Crown monies given to them secretly by a dissident faction within British Intelligence?
Truth is, indeed, stranger than fiction!
