A computer will pick a site for GM’s Saturn plant.

The computer will make an initial decision on where General Motors should build its coveted, high-technology Saturn Corp. manufacturing complex, a GM official said. “It’s a highly complex computer model which contains in it all the up-front and ongoing costs associated with a new plant development,” a GM executive said. If the computer selects more than one area as appropriate for the plant, GM officials will make a choice.
