Randy Romaro scored his third stakes win of the holiday weekend at Hawthorne track in Chicago when he guided Derby Wish to a neck victory in the $269,800 Secretariat Stakes for 3-year-olds.
Derby Wish, which paid $9.60, $5.60 and $3, finished ahead of Racing Star and Day Shift in the 1-mile turf race, winning in a time of 2:01. Duluth, the 13-10 favorite, was a neck behind Day Shift in fourth after meeting interference in the stretch.
