Rolf Benirschke’s pulled groin muscle could keep him out of action for up to four weeks and may force the San Diego Chargers to hire a new kicker.
Rookie Ralf Mojsiejenko kicks off and punts, but he, too, has a groin pull, which does not allow him to kick cleanly.
Benirschke was hurt before an exhibition game against New Orleans on Aug. 30. Mojsiejenko was injured during the game. Linebacker Billy Ray Smith kicked the game-winning field goal.
