El Paso Natural Gas cut what it will pay for gas.

The pipeline company said it lowered the price that it will pay for natural gas from certain producers to $2.20 per 1,000 cubic feet effective Oct. 1. As a result, El Paso customers will pay about 26 cents less per 1,000 cubic feet. Southern California Gas, El Paso’s biggest customer, said it will save about $55 million a year as a result. The gas company had planned to reduce its purchases from El Paso unless it lowered its prices.
