Betty Jo Williams, a San Diego Zoological Society trustee and first vice president, has been elected 1986 president of the 120,000-member society.
The Zoological Society has 12 volunteer trustees who determine policy and oversee development of the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
A 30-year San Diego resident, Williams also is vice chairwoman of the Zoological Society’s development committee. This year Williams, a Stanford graduate, received the university’s outstanding achievement award for her work with the university’s fund-raising program.
