Tragic Story of Brain-Damaged Child
Your tragic story regarding young Scott Thomas, the victim of severe brain damage following minor surgery (Sept. 14), has opened many unanswered questions.
Was the state Medical Board aware of the Scott Thomas incident, since it occurred shortly after Dr. Michael Winston’s probationary period began?
If so, why was Dr. Winston hired as chief of the Sepulveda V.A. Medical Center Anesthesia Department?
What protection can we expect when administrators and medical boards ignore such medical practices?
