SAN DIEGO — Victories last week by Orange Glen and Poway high schools, along with Fallbrook’s 10-9 upset of El Camino, have vaulted four teams from the Palomar League into The Times’ Top 10 this week.
Orange Glen, ranked ninth a week ago, defeated previously unbeaten San Pasqual, 30-29. Poway moved into the top 10 for the first time by beating Oceanside, 28-21.
Orange Glen, Poway and Fallbrook join the league’s top-ranked team, Vista, which defeated Morse, 44-14, Friday to remain No. 3 in this week’s rankings.
With so many teams ranked in the top 10, it figures there will be some excellent showdowns in the Palomar League this season. The first of those will come Friday when No. 8 Poway plays host to No. 3 Vista.
