AST Research Inc., enjoying an all-time high demand for its computer enhancement products, said Monday that its fiscal 1986 first quarter net income nearly tripled to a record $8.1 million from the $2.2 million reported a year ago.
The Irvine-based computer accessory maker said revenues for the period ended Sept. 30 jumped 68%, to $43.7 million from $26 million in the comparable 1985 quarter.
