SAN DIEGO — In the last two weeks, the teams in The Times’ Top 10 have been nearly unbeatable with an 18-1-1 record.
The only loss a Top 10 team has suffered was Orange Glen’s 29-21 defeat to No. 3-ranked Vista Friday night. The loss dropped the Patriots to No. 7 in this week’s rankings, as unbeaten Fallbrook moved to No. 6.
This week, however, at least two Top 10 teams will lose as No. 5 Granite Hills meets No. 1 Helix and No. 9 Chula Vista plays No. 8 Bonita Vista.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista High won its fifth straight game, defeating El Cajon, 21-6, at Valley Stadium Friday night. But the Monarchs, ranked No. 10 a week ago, dropped out of the rankings, replaced by San Pasqual.
