A typhoon last week in Vietnam’s central region killed 670 people and injured 257, the Vietnam News Agency reported. It said that 128 people were missing in Binh Tri Thien province. Almost 50,000 homes were destroyed, along with six provincial hospitals and 250 medical stations. A total of 150,000 acres of farmland were flooded, and irrigation channels were damaged, the agency said.
