AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: The Rolling Stones, who have been gathering moss for the past couple of years, are back with a new album, “Dirty Work” (the group’s debut CBS Records release). The record features such songs as “One Hit (to the Body),” “Winning Ugly,” “Fight” and “Back to Zero,” as well as a pair of covers, “Too Rude” and “Harlem Shuffle,” a 1963 hit by Bob & Earl that is slated to be the first single off the album. The record includes the usual assortment of special guests, including Jimmy Page, Tom Waits, Bobby Womack, Don Covay and Ivan Neville. . . . Johnny Cash’s next album will feature “Unwed Fathers,” a recent John Prine song. . . . Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, Sparks--L.A.’s original pop oddballs--are signing with MCA/Curb Records, with a new album expected later this year. . . . And the Bluesbusters Band (which includes rock vets Catfish Hodge, Paul Barrere and Freebo) go into the studio later this month to record its debut album, for Landslide Records. The group will be on display on Valentine’s Day at the Blue Lagune Saloon.
