Concrete Institute Honors Morley Construction Co.

The annual Charles J. Pankow Jr. award for outstanding design and construction in concrete has been presented by the Southern California chapter of the American Concrete Institute to Morley Construction Co., Los Angeles.
The award, granted for the development of a new, more effective and economical method of forming and placing high-lift foundation walls, was accepted for Morley by project superintendent Bob Wiegman at a the chapter’s annual dinner at Luminarias Restaurant, Monterey Park.
Devised in cooperation with Concrete Tie Co., San Diego, the system allows construction of building wall segments 60 feet high that are placed in a single lift.
