Softball Roundup : Titans Win a Pair From Rebels

The Cal State Fullerton softball team opened the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. season by sweeping a doubleheader from Nevada Las Vegas Friday, 4-0 and 6-0, at Fullerton.
The Titans, ranked No. 1 in the country, improved their overall record to 18-2. Connie Clark (10-1) had a perfect game going until the seventh inning of the opening game, when she allowed a single. Fullerton’s Susan LeFebvre struck out nine and pitched a complete game in the nightcap.
In community college action:
Rancho Santiago 3, Golden West 2--The Dons scored three runs in the first inning and held on for the South Coast Conference win at Santa Ana. Sandy Martinez and Chris Makimoto scored on wild pitches and Lee Bladow stole home to account for Rancho Santiago’s runs. Lorraine Kalehuawehe recorded her fourth win in five decisions. Rancho Santiago is 11-2 overall, Golden West 12-3.
