Grelsson-Led UCI Wins Track Meet

Karin Grelsson won the long jump and the triple jump, and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles to lead the UC Irvine women’s track team (60 1/2 points) to a win over Oregon State (51 1/2), Northern Arizona (33) and Long Beach State (24) at Irvine Saturday afternoon.

Grelsson, a freshman transfer from Sweden, won the long jump at 18 feet, 6 3/4 inches and the triple jump with a leap of 38-10 3/4.

The UCI men’s team finished second (64) behind Northern Arizona (76). Long Beach (42) was third, followed by Oregon State (25). Junior Ralph Garibaldi won the 1,500 meter (3:47.7) and the 5,000 (14:28.6) for the Anteaters.
