A. H. Robins Co. said it dismissed a law firm.

The firm, Murphy, Weir & Butler of San Francisco, has been handling the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which was brought on by suits from women who claimed injuries from use of the Dalkon Shield birth-control device. The Richmond, Va., pharmaceutical firm, in a terse prepared statement, said that “management believes this action is in the best interest of the company in moving the Chapter 11 proceedings forward.”
