NEW YORK — Tennis star Jimmy Connors has been fined $20,000 and suspended for 10 weeks for defaulting a match last month, the Men’s International Professional Tennis Council announced today.
Before he can appeal, he would have to pay $25,000 to the Pro Council, which would include the $5,000 fine he was assessed by supervisor Ken Farrar after defaulting his semifinal match against Ivan Lendl in the Lipton International Players Championships at Boca Raton, Fla.
