The popularity of Halley’s Comet has prompted Griffith Observatory to extend the hours during which the public can view the comet through the observatory’s telescope. Edward C. Krupp, director of the observatory atop Griffith Park, said the facility will open at 4 a.m. Saturday and will remain open “essentially all night” from April 4 through April 11.
