MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Geraldine A. Ferraro’s husband accused nearby reporters of being a “bunch of vultures” as the couple accompanied their son to court Monday for a hearing on drug charges against the Middlebury College senior.
Ferraro, the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 1984, and her husband, John A. Zaccaro, sat quietly in the small courthouse as an attorney for John Zaccaro Jr., 22, set the dates for gathering and exchanging information on the case with the prosecutor and judge. Another status hearing was set for April 28.
Zaccaro was arrested Feb. 20 and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute after he allegedly sold a small amount to an undercover officer.
