Nabisco plans to cut Del Monte’s work force.

Employment at Del Monte’s San Francisco and Walnut Creek, Calif., plants are expected to be cut, according to Nabisco Brands’ officials. The number of employees affected was not announced. The company also reported that it plans to sell its $200-million frozen foods business. Nabisco would not indicate whether it had buyers for the frozen foods unit or what price it might fetch.
