Protection for Marcos Extended

WASHINGTON — President Reagan has ordered continued Secret Service protection of deposed Philippine president Ferdinand E. Marcos, who has moved from Hickam Air Force Base to a Honolulu beachfront home, officials said today.
Marcos has been receiving around-the-clock protection since Feb. 27 under an authorization from Reagan that accorded Marcos the status of “distinguished foreign visitor.” That protection had been scheduled to end this week, but Reagan ordered it continued for “an indefinite period of time,” a spokesman for the Secret Service said.
