The retailer will close 11 of its catalogue retail stores in California and Nevada by mid-June and could close the remaining 50 money-losing stores and a distribution center by August if a buyer isn’t found, said Peter Onions, chief financial officer of the Canadian company. Seven of the stores are in Southern California. Closing the 61 stores and the Reno distribution center would cost 1,000 full-time and part-time jobs, he said.
