Hurricane Churns Into Atlantic

MIAMI — Hurricane Earl, never a threat to the U.S. mainland, flung its 75 m.p.h. winds farther into the open Atlantic south of Bermuda today and appeared headed for an early demise in the vastness of the cool sea.
