What a pleasure to discover a gem amid the summer junk: Such was the performance of Sydney Walsh, who enlivened the formulaic pilot titled “Adams Apple.” By creating a character that was forceful and sensitive, sexy and competent, Walsh extracted every bit of life from a role that could easily have become a caricature.
