San Diego

One day after it was reported missing, San Diego police Sunday recovered a tractor-trailer carrying four prototype Renault Medallion automobiles reportedly valued at more than $200,000.

Police said the tractor-trailer was discovered at 10:15 a.m. near the corner of Eastgate Mall and Miramar Road in northern San Diego. All of the cars were found undamaged inside the trailer, police said. The trailer had smashed locks and a broken window.

The four handmade cars had been brought to town for a filming session, authorities said. The tractor-trailer and its cargo were reported stolen Saturday morning from a motel in Hotel Circle South.
