The World : GI Killed at Honduras Club

An American woman was shot in the head and killed during a Christmas celebration at a nightclub in Honduras, police said. The woman, a 30-year-old Army sergeant, was killed when a Honduran companion fired shots into the air at the nightclub in the Atlantic coastal resort of Tela, about 100 miles north of the capital of Tegucigalpa, a police spokesman said. He added that the woman was assigned to the Task Force Bravo unit at Palmerola Air Base, the center of American military operations in Honduras. Her identity was withheld pending notification of kin.
