Uh-oh. Herschell Gordon Lewis, the Godfather of Gore (he made 1964’s “Blood Feast,” considered the first official gore film), is about to make a rare L.A. appearance: He’ll appear at the Variety Arts Center on Jan. 17 along with four of his pics--”A Taste of Blood,” “Something Weird,” “Gore Gore Girls” and . . . uh-oh . . . “Blood Feast.”
Festivities begin at 7 p.m., with Lewis (now a direct-mail specialist in Florida) expected to hit the stage at 11. The next day, beginning at 5, four more Lewis flicks will screen: “Scum of the Earth,” “2,000 Maniacs,” “The Wizard of Gore” and “Gruesome Twosome.”
