USIU Golfer Shares 3rd Place in Tucson

United States International University’s Laurette Maritz shot a 74 Tuesday, bringing her two-day total to 146 to tie for third in the second round of the Arizona Women’s Collegiate Golf Tournament at the Randolph Golf Course in Tucson.
Maritz is tied with Kate Golden of Texas. Leader Kathleen McCarthy of Stanford shot a four-under-par 68 to bring her total to 142. Arizona State’s Pam Wright is second at 145.
Arizona State has a 16-stroke lead, ahead of USC (604) and Arizona (608), in the 14-team tournament. USIU is in ninth place at 625 and San Diego State is in 11th at 634.
