The minister who distributed condoms to parishioners during a sermon about AIDS earlier this month was convicted of parading naked in front of Brownies and has an extensive police record, a newspaper said. The Rev. Carl Thitchener, 54, pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst, N.Y., pleaded guilty in 1957 to second-degree assault and was found guilty of disorderly conduct in a 1982 streaking incident involving Brownies in Livingston County, the Buffalo News reported. “I have decided not to say anything about this,” Thitchener told the paper.
