Ski Jumper Pederson Wins Event in Japan

SAPPORO, Japan — Trond J. Pedersen of Norway soared 114.0 meters in the day’s longest jump and went on to win the 90-meter event in the Miyasama Ski Jump competition Sunday.
Pedersen, 28, leaped 112.0 meters on his second jump, earning 220.4 points, and beat Terumi Hashimoto of Japan by 19.1 points.
