Westminster : Grants, Loans Available for Home Rehabilitation
- Share via
Grants and low-interest loans of up to $15,000 are available through the federal community development block grant program to rehabilitate houses--including mobile homes--for unsafe plumbing, wiring and heating, city officials said.
Homeowners who qualify will be asked to pay interest on loans based on their income.
Interest rates start from as low as 3%, according to officials with the city’s Planning Department.
In addition, grants of up to $2,000 are available to homeowners with low incomes who otherwise would not qualify for a loan.
The money can be used to correct hazardous conditions and for general home improvements, including exterior painting.
The loans and grants are not available for renters.
Those interested can call the Planning Department at (714) 898-3311, Ext. 255.
