Orangewood Week Proclaimed: The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday proclaimed March 30 through April 5 as Orangewood Week, during which an organization hopes to raise $125,000 to help abused and neglected children. William Steiner, executive director of the Orangewood Children’s Foundation, said California Angels’ third baseman Doug DeCinces will be honorary chairman. The week will end with a ‘Round Orange Race that will include running events of 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers and a 1 Mile Kids’ Fun Run. That race will begin at 1400 N. Tustin Ave. and conclude at Orange Mall. Participants will then be treated to a pancake breakfast. For information, call (714) 756-8935.
