Ronis Leads USIU Past SCC in 19-7 Rout

SAN DIEGO — United States International University took advantage of five walks, two errors, two hits and a hit batsman to score nine unearned runs in a 19-7 victory Tuesday over Southern California College in a nonconference game at USIU.
John Ronis was 4 for 6, including a two-run homer in the fourth, for USIU (14-16-1). Kevin Robinson (3 for 5) added a solo home run in the sixth. Gull starter Noel Bishop (3-2) pitched six innings.
SCC is 7-19.
Massachusetts 10, UC San Diego 4--Playing their first game in 10 days because of finals, the Tritons (12-9) lost to Division I Massachusetts (1-2). Steve Allen was the winning pitcher.
