Santa Monica : Douglas Museum Reopening
The Donald Douglas Museum and Library, closed for eight months for cleaning and redesigning, will be reopened at noon Friday. The museum’s regular hours are noon to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Gary D. Danforth, a member of the board of directors, said volunteer docents are needed. “We will need quite a few of them to assist us,” Danforth said. “We do not charge admission and rely solely on donations to keep the museum open.”
Located at 2800 Airport Ave., south of the Santa Monica Airport, the museum features documents and memorabilia associated with the founding and operation of Douglas Aircraft Co.
Volunteers may contact Danforth at 390-3339.
