LONDON — A 4-year-old Israeli girl whose illness moved 450 fellow travelers on a plane bringing her to Britain to donate $68,000 for her treatment today received a new liver.
Moran Kadosh was in a stable condition after the six-hour operation at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, said Peter Campion, spokesman for the transplant team.
Moran and her parents were on an El Al airliner bound from Tel Aviv to Britain for the operation when word spread among the 450 passengers that the family had no means of paying for her treatment.
A spontaneous collection among the passengers amassed $68,000.
Experts had said Moran would not have lived 48 hours without the transplant.
