Compton police arrested 13 members of a youth gang on suspicion of intimidating witnesses after they allegedly attacked four men and three women in an elevator at the county courthouse in Compton. A police spokesman said the attackers were members of the N-Hood Crips, and their male victims were witnesses who had come to the courthouse to testify against one of them in an earlier shooting incident, while the three women were jurors and a witnesses in unrelated cases. No one suffered major injury, the spokesman said, and the attackers remained in custody in lieu of $5,000 bail apiece.
