Bell-Jeff Loses 1-A First-Round Playoff, 4-3

Cerritos Valley Christian overcame a three-run deficit Tuesday to edge Bell-Jeff, 4-3, in the first round of the Southern Section 1-A playoffs at Cerritos.
Tom Ressler of Bell-Jeff led a six-hit attack with his seventh home run, but starter James Miljanich (6-2) was unable to protect a 3-0 lead.
Trailing 3-1, Cerritos Valley Christian tied the score in the sixth inning and scored the winning run in the seventh.
Bell-Jeff (12-13) had advanced to the first round by rallying for a 6-5 win over Sierra Vista in a wild-card game Friday.
