Sixty-seven opposition South Korean lawmakers ended a three-day hunger strike protesting the government’s refusal to further investigate the torture death of dissident student Park Chong Chul in January. A spokesman said the legislators want to regain their strength for anti-government rallies planned for Wednesday, when the ruling Democratic Justice Party is to formally name its chairman, Roh Tae Woo, as its candidate to succeed President Chun Doo Hwan.
